    Nope.

But you can make Windows 8 look and work very much like Windows 7.

..and the point of this exercise would be...what?

Install Classic Shell from Classic Shell - Start menu and other Windows enhancements and enjoy W7 UI with the speed and features of W8.

gonna be a contestant for the most stupid thread on this board.

Why don't you guys try to install Windows XP on this tablet?

Windows 8.1 has a superior memory management features, that's how manufacturers can get away with just 2GB RAM on those tablets.

By downgrading you give it up.

But I am out of here, good luck

I think it would be interesting to understand the OP's reasoning. I don't know if thread would qualify for the "most stupid thread on the board", but I do agree with MC that you would end up losing the essence (efficiency, beauty, elegance, etc.) of having Win 8 running natively on a 2 GB tablet. If it is just the UI experience, then the Classic Shell or even Start 8 would be very good options to emulate the Win 7 UI. Maybe running a Win 7 VMWare image on the SD card might be another option.

32-bit Windows 7 doesn't support UEFI, so I don't think you'd be able to boot it on the T100 (I can't remember if there are Legacy Boot options in the BIOS, and can't reboot mine to check at the moment). Driver support may be an issue as well as Baytrail-T as a platform had all its drivers targeted at Windows 8.1.

As above though Windows 8.1, set to boot to desktop and disable the hot-corners and then add Classic Shell. This is what I've done on my desktop.

You could set up a virtual Windows 7 machine using Virtualbox. I have a virtual Windows XP machine set up on mine, since my company VPN will only work with XP.

I'm struggling to understand why anyone would want to put WIN7 on a tablet period.

    It's a desktop operating system.

Could be down to application compatibility, or tablet usage might not be the main concern. I rarely use my T100 undocked. Its just a cheap, small, laptop to me most the time.

Out of the box Windows 7 is the better OS for a clamshell (IMO), but customised Windows 8.1 with Classic Shell and some other tweaks is acceptable.
