    Reinstall

    Im trying to reinstall windows and when I go to select the "remove everything and reinstall Windows" from update & recovery, it tells me to connect it to AC and " insert the Asus Recovery SD card". What recovery SD card?

    I'd call ASUS on that one and let us know how you make out. I thought they had recovery partitions, not an SD card.

    reinstall = reset?

    I think "reset" is one of the three advanced startup options. I believe that also re-installs Windows. The reset option definitely prompts you to connect an AC adaptor before it will begin. The steps to reach that option from the charms bar are:

    1. settings
    2. change PC settings
    3. update and recovery
    4. recovery
    5. remove everything and reinstall windows (the other two options are "refresh your PC without affecting files" and "advanced startup")
    6. follow on screen instructions, it starts very slowly then completes quickly once it gets to 5% or so

    My guess is the OP selected "advanced startup" instead of "remove everything and reinstall windows" because "advanced startup" offers the option of using boot media rather than the onboard partition

    To utilize the recovery partition, you need to power off the tablet and press F9 immediately after powering it back on. This will take you to the recovery interface. You'll know it's launching if you see the Windows 8 logo in the middle of the screen. If you get the Asus screen with the moving dots, it's booting normally. You'll need to power off and try again. It may take SEVERAL attempts. I've restored mine several times. It's always tricky to press the F9 in time. This is unlike the lengthy window of opportunity you have during a typical laptop or desktop POST.

    Is it possible you disabled or removed the recovery partition from your Windows installation? I've gone through the remove everything and re-install Windows" 5 or six times on two different t100s and I never saw the prompts you describe.

    If I interpret some discussions in other threads correctly then the 32 GB version has an extra internal storage unit of 8 GB explicitly for the recovery data. Otherwise the free space on the SSD would be to small.
    The warning about the AC-Adapter (the powerbrick) is to assure that there will be no loss of power during the recovery process. If the battery is fully charged it should suffice. It is always a good idea to tinker with the system only AFTER having full power. ;-)
