    BIOS updates 222 and 223

    Hello,

I just wanted to let you guys know there are two new BIOS files on the ASUS servers.

    http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/...100TAAS222.zip
    http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/...100TAAS223.zip

They don't appear on the support page yet. Changes are unknown.

Some guy in a German forum got the 222 BIOS from ASUS when he complained about the battery drain issue in connected standby. So I figured the file might already be on the servers. What I found was not only the 222 BIOS but an even newer 223 as well.

    Have fun.

    EDIT:

I do now have a changelog for 222 and 223.

    222: Updated GOP driver
223: Support for additional LCD panels added

    (own translation from German)

CAUTION! These updates are not officially released by ASUS yet. They may not have undergone final testing, so please only apply these updates if you are aware of the risks.

Hmm... tried with Winflash and got an error "cannot allocate buffer". Has anyone else managed to flash this latest update?

(I tried the 223 update, that is)

Hmm... Same error on 222. I'm hesitant to try on the EFI Easy Flash, since I've heard there are more bricks with that method.

I successfully flashed the 222 BIOS. I'll try the 223 update later today.

After completing the update the device did't shutdown but restart instead. I think it didn't do that after previous updates. I'll keep an eye on other improvements.

WARNING. Just flashed 223 using EFI easy flash. I believe it bricked my t100. Will not turn on.

The update appeared to go completely fine, but I cannot get it to turn on at all. Really appears to be bricked. May have to RMA.

There have to be some serious problems related to Easy Flash then.

It worked for me. I had 2.20 and updated to 2.23 with WinFlash. I have 32GB+500GB version

Unless anyone knows some alternative means of forcing booting, it seems like mine is totally dead. I had updated to 220 using easyflash when I got stuck in a Win8 boot loop, so who knows what the root cause is. Regardless, I would advise that easy flash 223 update is very risky, and if Winflash fails, then do not attempt updating using Easy flash.

    (I have a US 64 gig btw)
