Wasn't there a method to reset your T100? Like pressing and holding two buttons simultaneously (power + vol up/down)? Maybe you should give that a try?

I guess those Easy Flash problems and the "cannot allocate buffer" message have to be related.

Anyway, my deepest condolences! I hope your dead T100 can be revived.

I've tried power + vol up. But I believe that is supposed to do the same as F9 and activate win8 recovery. Mine doesn't turn on any lights or anything at all. It's like it has zero battery or something and won't give any indication of being alive. I tried with/without dock. With/without flash drive with the update. It never turns on.

That's my guess. I thought it had to do with Winflash since I've only ever managed to use Easy flash, as risky as it seemed. But it must of been some sort of incompatibility. It really feels like it's totally dead, but when I got it, it was stuck in a Win8 loop that I only managed to recovery using a Win8 Pro image. So maybe it's just karma, and I'll have to do the RMA regardless. Still sucks though. Maybe tomorrow it'll somehow work again...

Why are you guys flashing new firmware if you don't know what they do??

If it ain't broke, don't fix it is the cardinal rule here...

The only thing that to happen is that when I plug it in, the white fully charged light comes on. And when I hold the button, it flashes a couple times and then stays solid. I don't remember if that always happened, but the screen doesn't ever seen to turn on after that.

Same could be said about 220 before people tried it and realized it fixed a lot of stuff. Someone has to test these things first, and I just lost that lottery. I was certainly aware of the risks, however.

Someone testing them is Asus generally. When the firmware is ready for public consumption they'll post it with a change log.

Unless you ARE having issues (I'm assuming most people are stable with 220), I don't see the sense in flashing 222/223 because it might resolve issues you're not having...

Sorry to hear about your troubles though, hope it can be unbricked soon.

As far as I'm aware, 220 never had an official changelog. But I'm not claiming that it's advisable to be updating BIOSes willy nilly. This is not the first machine I've done this on, and I've had thinkpads that have been flashed with 3rd party hex edited BIOSes that worked great and added a number of additional features.

It does seem like my t100 is bricked, but hopefully the RMA process will get it up to snuff, as long as it may take. I realize that qbasob got it to work with Winflash, but I wouldn't recommend it. If you do try, stick with Winflash, and do not attempt Easy flash if it gives you an error.

As I said, ASUS support seem to consider the 222 update stable. They wouldn't have given it to customers otherwise.

Just to be clear zero, I didn't force anyone to upgrade their BIOS. It's completely up to you.

By the way, I think you should stay clear of Easy Flash in general. It either works with WinFlash on the first attempt or you'll risk bricking your device. I conside those devices showing the "cannot allocate buffer" message to be faulty anyway.

Does your T100 have a Windows logo on it?
