Thread: Keyboard connection (disconnecting / reconnecting)

    For Me:
    every 15 minutes or so, of typing, the keyboard and mousepad freezes up
    then, i have to go into device manager and refresh 'scan for hardware changes'
    then, its working again

    what could be the problem
    what should I do ?
    is there a driver update i should be aware of ?

    Sounds like maybe a connection problem from the keyboard/dock to the tablet? Can you hear a disconnect/reconnect sound if you wiggle the dock left/right while connected?

    no, i cannot hear a connect/disconnect sound when wiggling the dock
    when wiggling the dock, the keyboard and mousepad remain operational

    Same problem here.

    When I open the lid (from sleep mode), I hear clicking sounds and keyboard ( with internal HDD ) connects and disconnects by itself in a slow rate. And when I move the screen a little bit forward or backward, it gets even worse and clicking sounds are faster.
    Then must shut it down and until I close the lid and open it again, same issue appears...connecting/disconnecting.

    Have checked is there any fix regarding this problem, can't find any.


    An update: I'd asked Asus support regarding this issue, they replied quickly that it looks like a hardware problem and gave me a contact info of a local Asus service.

    Another udate:
    Check this video and see that keyboard issue is related with the bad Asus connector and how can be fixed - if you brave enough
