Received my tablet new from amazon. Noticed the windows button under the volume button I have to push it in hard to work. Is this normal??

It seems like I'm not the only one with this problem.
I got my tablet a week ago and now i need to push it towards me instead of push it in to the tablet, haha.

Define "hard". My button is a bit stiff, and it doesn't have deep travel, but it works.

Buttons on new devices are typically "firm" to press perhaps the first 100 times....rather than have them be "flimsy".

    Not a problem.

Ok. It does work just need to have two hands holding the device to push the button in.... it doesn't push in as nice and smooth like the volume and power button.

Mine is very stiff too, unlike the other buttons, I have to use two hands to use it, which defeats its usability for me. I use the charms bar instead. I consider returning it for repair, but that would be a big, big hassle (if they accepted it).

My home button is also very stiff. It also makes a loud and annoying squeaking sound.

I think I've used my Windows button 2 times in this first month of having the T100.

Based on that ratio...it's stay pretty firm (like any new unused button) for a while.

No doubt they could have located the Windows button in a more logical/accessible place on the tablet. There have been a number of good suggestions, but the current location is not intuitive for newer users. For us veterans...it's simply a goofy place to put that button, but you get used to it I suppose.

Personally, I think putting the Windows button on the side of the case is a FAR better option to a capacitive button on the front. I got my wife a Toshiba Encore 8 for Christmas, and whilst she loves the thing, she's continually accidentally pressing the Windows button and it's annoying her a LOT!

At least a physical button on the side is a lot harder to accidentally press.

My T100 side button is kind of hard and very awkward to push... but like ASUSFAN001 I have only used the side button maybe 2-3 (now 4 times) times for switching from METRO to DESKTOP and back. It's far easier for me, to use the WINDOWS key on the hardkeyboard or swipe from the right on the screen and touch the WINDOWS logo.

In vertical tablet mode... you can pretend the WINDOWS logo (if you have one) on the tablet frame does something by touching that logo and swiping left. LOL
