    Photos of disassembled 500GB dock

Someone posted this on one of the polish forums:

HDD is 7mm SATA (not USB!) device. SATA is converted to USB somewhere in dock electronics.

Things I see from the pics are......
    1) different bottom cover with a lot of the webbing removed to accommodate the HDD
    2) different metal stiffening plate with cutout and mounting pad holes to accommodate the HDD & HDD cage.
    3) different PCB with connector for HDD
    4) possible adapter on HDD for connection to PCB connector, hard to tell on that one.

Still does not mean an existing non HDD keyboard could not work with some ingenuity and soldering skills.

It seems 64GB's dock unlike 32GB+500's dock
Perhaps, Import a HDD in my 64gb's dock is impossible

    of course it is possible.
to put HDD or SSD inside the kb dock one needs either good soldering skills or new PCB.

Obviously SSD would be way more efficient and fast.

I'd be glad to get this dock for free

Other than that, modification doesn't seem to be worthwhile, at least for me. I have about 80GB left on C: and D: (64GB Sandisk microSD) after installing all my programs and MS Office.
I deleted 8GB Restore partition on C: after copying it on flash drive.

    So, why bother?

    Agree.

In my case...I have a simple, small, lightweight 500GB USB drive I can plug in anytime I need it (and it only cost $34). Easy Peasy.
