    Bottom Ports

Thinking very seriously about the T100. Looked at one at BB today. When it is un-docked, there are large ports on the bottom. Is there a way to cover them or keep gunk from getting into them while using the T100 as a tablet?

most unusual T100 problem I've seen so far.

Yeah, you can cover them with Band Aid.

The two outermost ports are there for purely mechanical reasons. They help align the screen onto the keyboard, lock it in place, and spread pressure evenly across the body of the screen when tilting. Getting a little fluff into them shouldn't hurt anything.

Only the center most port is electrical. No, there doesn't seem to be any dust plug available. You could probably make one with Sugru or another quickly curing clay. Sugru air-cures in about 24 hours, though you'd want to be careful to keep it from completely curing in the port, it could stick.

I can honestly say that I use the T100 the majority of the time as a tablet, and I've never had any problem with materials getting stuck up in the port. I'd say that unless you're using it in an extremely dusty, outdoors environment or you just don't keep your hands clean, this is largely a non-issue.

Still, it would be nice if something existed...

    Agree.

    No issues here either.

Like any electronics device, common sense and care come into play when using or storing these devices.
