Also have used True Image Home for backup on the PC here and actually found it to be a great alternative as well.
I had a lot of problems with TI and don't trust them anymore.

What I like about Windows backup is the fact that it does restore your boot drive without any hesitation.

Just an fyi that I have switched the majority of my customers as they get new systems and servers from True Image to Macrium Reflect. It does nearly everything TI does and there is a free version for personal use. Updates are easier and more automated too.

I use Macrium too and I like it.

Another option is EaseUS Todo, which also has free standard program.

I've been out of the imaging game for a while and use to use Ghost. I know.

Can someone post or point to a guide on how to use either or both Macrium Reflect and/or EaseUS Todo with the ASUS T100TA?

I love being able to reimage in minutes without reinstalling or running a Windows system recovery/reimage.

    Thanks in advance!

To be honest, on top of everything else, Macrium is easier to use than True Image and at least as easy as EaseUS. Macrium Reflect FREE Edition - Information and download I use the make recovery utility to create ISO images in case I need to do an image recovery. It's very straightforward. but there are some guides on the site.

How are these 3rd party backup utilities better than the Asus backup product?

The ASUS Backup Utility only gives the Factory Image for the ASUS.

Many of us use the computer, patch it, install applications and apps, configure it to our personal preferences, etc.

Imaging software takes a current snapshot of your hard drive for quick re-imaging of that system later.

If all you need is to restore it to the factory defaults, then the ASUS Backup Utility is all that you need.
If you'd like to keep different updated versions of your system and pick one to re-image your system later with your personal preferences from that time, then imaging your system is what you need.
