I'm going to buy a T100, my delima is to buy an available 32GB in stock for $299.00 or wait for a 64GB @ $399.00.

I got the 64GB during Black Friday for the 32GB price...so I'm somewhat tainted in favor of the 64GB unit.

That said, it depends on how you plan to use the unit (what programs to run, how much storage onboard, etc.

Coupled with a 64GB microSD card, my 64GB unit has tons of capacity.

The 32GB unit will work just fine for most folks I suspect. Keep you eyes open online (Amazon, Best Buy, Microsoft Store) for deals on the 64GB unit if that's the route you plan to take.

The 32G version is simply too cramped. Right off the top, you lose 8GB for the recovery partition.

I have the 64GB model. Even with that, I feel a little cramped after loading just a few apps.
    Really?

I've installed more than 30 programs & apps so far...still have tons of storage, not to mention my 64GB microSD card has more than 8,000 digital photos and 26 hours of HD video/movies on it...and it still has 28GB left on that too.

All that said, my original post stated "it depends..." on what the OP plans to do with their tablet (including what they plan to install on it).

I'd agree with you that given the basic choice, and finding a good deal on the larger capacity unit - the 64GB version is most attractive.

Best Buy has the 32 on sale this week for the 299 + tax of course. Amazon runs the 64 for 349 every so often, but no tax at least not yet in our state and I believe they did a one day sale during black Friday for 299. With Amazon just have to keep checking. Personally I think the 64 at 349 no tax, free shipping, would be a better deal than the 32 at 299 + tax, you would be looking at approximately a 30 dollar difference for an extra 32GB's. Now if one could find the 64 at 299 again like black Friday week that is a real bargin, but they sell faaassssttttt!!!!!

    This.

But you aren't going to see a 64GB at $299 again for quite a while I think. It's still a good deal at $349.

The recovery files on the 32GB model are on a separate built in write protected 8 GB drive (ROM or EEPROM) not a separate partition on the 32 GB system drive. The space for the recovery set is not subtracted from the system drive but it also can not (so far) be recovered and included in the file system.

The purpose for the T100 would be for field use at a construction site. The ability to use email, windows office for construction documents and viewing PDF drawings. Don't forsee a need for a lot of added programs other than a possible USB aircard. 64GB in an external card should be plenty for drawings, documents and pics. At $299, won't feel a lot of grief if it doesn,t hold up.

32GB vs 64GB - easy decision in my opinion

Get the 64GB version, it's a no brainer.
