    Additional RAM option

Haven't tried it yet but here's a procedure for adding additional RAM to the T100.

How to Add Extra Storage Space to Your Microsoft Surface That Your Apps Can Actually Use Tablets

Anybody done anything like this yet?

it is NOT about RAM per ce, it is about storage being used by Windows.
RAM on T100 is 2GB and soldered to the motherboard, it is not possible to upgrade.

Yes, it is very important to maintain the distinction between RAM (Random Access Memory) and flash memory storage. They are completely different things.

That is a very useful page, though, nonetheless. Good find!

Windows will recognize the SD card if it's reformatted to NTFS....but i did not create a new folder.

you can also gain 8GB of space by backing up your Recovery drive to a usb Flash-drive.....when your done with your back-up you are given the option to delete the Recovery files.

This guide was written before 8.1 As far as I can tell, the the built in Metro media players now seem to support playing media from external sources. Since Microsoft's players still don't play some very common media formats, most users are going to install VLC or another Windows program that will have no trouble accessing removable media.

The other advantage would be to permit the installation of Metro apps to an SD card. Since most Metro apps are tiny, and there aren't a huge number of quality Metro apps, it's not that big of a deal. Most normal Windows apps could always be installed to removable devices, so mounting the storage is not necessary for their installation.

There's actually an advantage to not mounting the card and retaining a microSD card as a removable device. When copying large media files, it's a lot faster to eject a high speed card and place it into a USB 3.0 card reader. The T100's microSD reader is limited to something less than USB 2.0 speed.
