Computer error message and shut down when connecting the keyboard

I am having this really annoying problem when I decide to connect the keyboard that came with the tablet into the tablet, it makes the noise that is connected and goes straight to a blue screen with a sad face saying Windows encountered a problem and needs to restart. I have to wait for Windows to collect the information and then it restarts. It happens almost every time I connect the keyboard. Is anyone else having this problem? The error it says it is on the Windows blue screen is Kernel Security Check Failure. I would like to get this fixed

that was the very first instance my t100 crashed, while I was docking the tablet. scary. I think I didn't dock it properly (didn't make sure the two connectors clicked in place.) and that confused the touchpad and crashed the pc. I forgot the message that flashed. I think kernel was mentioned too.

now I don't detach the tablet that often anymore, anyway I only use this PC for blogging. if I have to undock I make sure it's shut down first, same thing with docking again. and make sure the connectors clicked. or else reseat them just to be sure.

are you on bios 2.20 already?

I dock and undock all the time when powered both awake and asleep with no issues. You definitely have something wrong.

I just don't want to try undocking it while it's awake. Seems like a good policy for me. But it's good to know ASUS put that nice touch of being able to dock and undock like that.

It's just a USB connection. Do you power down to plug in a flash drive?

I'm on 2.20 already. I was hoping that would fix the problem, but it didn't. If it is just USB, I remember I plugged in a usb thing for my wireless mouse and my computer crashed. That means there must be something wrong with plugging in USB things? I don't power down to plug in USB drives or the keyboard. I just plug it in while it is awake

    Hi,

Nope I don't power down when plugging flash drives. As for undocking the tablet, in the past I just press the power button quickly to put it to sleep, then undock. (Although you say u can do that even with the screen wide awake).

Now though I feel like I have to shut it down completely for reasons of fear, and even then, I detach it rarely. The last time I used it as pure tablet was watching the music video of Dreams (the Cranberries). Will try undocking it one of these days.

I looked in there and found nothing to solve the issue. I did a fresh install of Windows 8.1 Pro and that fixed the problem. I have no issues anymore
