10% per hour would give you 10 hours, which is about right. That's what I get too.
I think they advertise "up to" 12 hours and I'm sure you could stretch it to that by dimming the screen manually and only doing something light like typing out a Word document (for 12 hours). But 10 hours in regular use seems right.
Playing games kills the battery, and the right side of the back of the screen gets really hot. I get about 10% drain every 10-15 *minutes* playing most games.

That actually seems fairly high. Which game were you playing? When playing Civ, my battery life declines at a faster rate, but not THAT fast - I'd say 10% per half hour or so, maybe a bit more even, but not 10-15 minutes. I'd say playing Civ I would get a full 6 hours from this guy.

I have purchased two of these, and they both came with empty batteries. I also saw mention of the same experience by other posters. It's my understanding that modern batteries start to develop damage immediately when they are completely empty. I think it's some sort of irreversible, slow moving chemical reaction that forms crystals and leads to more and more battery inefficiency. That being the case, I would not want to purchase a unit that sat in the warehouse for too long. This might also play a factor in different battery life experiences.
Thoughts?

Hmm, got mine yesterday and it was completely dead as well...
How worried should I be?
Was also looking for a good battery usage app.
Anything out there?

Not yet. AsusFAN was quoting battery life times in another thread, but he said he used a clock to check uptime.

I'm using this:

not sure if this qualifies as a 'usage' app..

Well, Civ 5 famously (or infamously) does not use the full CPU. It seems intentional, and it's like that on every machine. You can find people talking about it since the first day of its release, and I saw someone mention it again here about the T100 so it's still acting that way even after all the patches. It's just designed that way.
The T100 still got hot while I was playing it, but it might last a bit longer than most games. I can't remember what I was playing that was giving me 10% drain in 10 minutes - something from my Steam account, which I was just going through and trying various things. Might have been something like the Ridge Racer Unbounded demo.

Yup.
Still waiting for an app to be released that accurately measures battery levels and battery life in real time. There are a few pretender apps, but nothing proven over time yet.

NotebookCheck did some Battery Runtimes:
Battery Runtime
The 2-cell battery (31 Wh polymer) provides excellent runtimes. Our realistic WLAN test (a script refreshes a website every 40 seconds, brightness at 150 cd/mē) results in 10:47 hours for the Transformer. It even manages 16:39 hours during idle and with minimum display brightness. Temash cannot keep up with that: Acer Aspire V5-122P (-17%) or Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite (-63%). Both devices are also equipped with a 30 Wh battery. Even the Lenovo IdeaTab Miix 10 (Z2760) only manages half the runtime (WLAN test), but the idle runtimes of the Atom predecessor are on the same level (Miix 10: -12%).
Idle (without WLAN, min brightness)
16h 39min
WiFi Surfing
10h 47min
Load (maximum brightness)
4h 16min
I usually take the 3 measures this way:
Idle: It's like using the notebook/tablet as PDF reader in your house, with low light conditions (so low brightness it's enough).
WiFi Surfing: As is.
Load: Playing some online game that puts the PC at its limits (high CPU usage, high GPU usage, WiFi enabled, high brightness). A good example of a game that really stresses the T100 could be Team Fortress 2, but considering that most of the energy draw usually comes from the CPU/GPU/display combo, probably it would be easier to test it with a benchmark like Unigine Heaven or something similar.
