    keyboard issues

    I just got my T100 a couple of weeks ago and the keyboard and track pad/mouse pointer work only occasionally. ASUS emailed me with links but they suck, one of the pages won't load. I am not computer savvy so any help in easy terms would be greatly appreciated! thanks.

    My guess is either you are not getting it seated fully in the keyboard dock (there should be two distinct clicks) or you have an intermittent connector and should return it for a replacement.

    I'm 99.99999% certain it isn't a virus causing your keyboard to connect and disconnect.

    I'll second Martian's post - almost 100% sure it has nothing to do with a virus, and 99% sure it's either not fully seated in the kybd or thkydb or tablt itself is defective in some way.

    Some of the reviews have shown flaky keyboards; it doesn't seem uncommon. It may just be defective. But I third the suggestion to just try more firmly seating it. I'm careful to do that myself but I have still discovered a few times that one side was not fully seated - push in the center, then try pushing back on each side too. (I have also seen that visually in some video reviews, where you can see the screen is a bit off-kilter.)

    The touchpad may be either the same issue or you could just be experiencing what we all are, which is that the touchpad goes to sleep after something like 10 seconds and needs to be woken up each time.

    Thanks everyone for the feedback. Unfortunately, in an effort to fix the issue Asus sent me new driver links that didn't work and then instructions to do something with re-booting the BIOS (I'm a bit computer illiterate, so not quite sure what that means). However, in the process of doing that - following step by step - the computer completely locked up on me, and since my keyboard doesn't work, I couldn't use keyboard shortcuts to ESC or go back or anything!!! Now my computer is frozen and I'm just waiting for the battery to die.

    ASUS customer service SUCKS. At this point I'm just hoping to be able to send it back for a new one. Soooo frustrating!
