Few things i did after charging & initial set-up:
    1. changed Windows Update settings to, "Check for Updates but let me choose which to install."
    2. Set the Tab/Display to Never sleep or Hibernate.
    3. in All Apps i opened the "Asus Smart Gesture App" and Disabled all but the basic TP gestures, after opening the App there are settings on the main page, also a menu for more settings on top & there are several options to choose from, also checked "disable TP when a mouse is plugged in".
    4. Uninstalled Asus Web Storage in "Programs & Features" and the listings on the Metro (All Apps) Screen.
    5. Disabled Reading Mode: Start Screen/All Apps/Asus Reading Mode App/check
the box on the top left.
    6. went to "Control Panel"/System/Advanced System Properties/Performance Settings & checked "Adjust for best Performance"

i updated my BIOS from 2.14 to 2.20 with Winflash & seem to be running Smoothly for now & hopefully it will stay this way...really enjoying this Fantastic Tab/Notebook and the opportunity to learn more about it.
    ....Enjoy!

It ships with the 32 bit version of Windows 8.1.

Most users will see no advantage in running Windows 8.1 Pro. The Pro features are largely targeted at enterprise users.

    Compare Windows Enterprise editions

I upgraded to Pro and then added Media Center with no issues.
