    Keyboard Dock (modding?)

Can the keyboard dock be purchased separately? I am interested in putting an mSATA SSD in the dock somehow if possible (or even a hidden usb3.0 flash drive) and don't want to possibly destroy my only one. Maybe also put in an additional usb 3.0 port if it'll fit. Another option would be an SD card reader. My dremel is around here somewhere .

It's funny, I ordered this to be a basic companion for small specific needs but now I'm using it almost as much as my thinkpad. It's just a little feature-lacking and I want to see to that!

I haven't found a link to order any of the included parts separately (I've been looking to buy another charger to leave at work). If you do, please let me know.

Can you confirm that they will keep up with the battery drainage while the T100 is powered on and in use? Because I haven't found any non-factory chargers that will do that.

I've only had the tablet one day and left it overnight on my phone charger and I woke to 100%. I will check and report back in a day or so.

Thanks. I've found that any USB charger will charge the T100 (slowly) if it's not powered on. It's a different story when the device is powered on. Even so called high power USB chargers (10W/2A and better) fail to keep up with the battery drainage of the T100 while it's in use. Only the factory charger can keep up with the energy demand, from what I've found so far.

It will charge while in use with my s4 charger.

I played an hd video at full brightness on youtube when it was at 52% plugged in. about 15-20 minutes into the video I checked again and it was at 56%. So its slow but it charges.

I actually havent used the stock charger at all so if it works better than this i'd be happy i guess

I bought a charger with the same amp volt watt specs as the OEM from Amazon:

Amazon.com: New 5V 2A 10W Power AC/DC Wall Charger Adapter Adaptor+5FT Micro USB to USB 2.0 Data Charger Noodle Cable Cord for HP TouchPad FB341AA#ABA: Computers & Accessories

Cost ten bucks, and seems to charge the T100 even faster than the OEM charger. Amazon is out of this one at the moment, but I imagine as long as you find something that duplicates the OEM power specs, you'd be good to go.

Back on the subject, I'm keen to mod this keyboard too. Using this T100 more than I planned i like it so much. 0 heat and fan noise makes it a good little torrent download machine too. I think if it was possible to wire into the dock an internal usb3 port and add a sandisk extreme 64gb pendrive wit hthe plastic shell removed. (220mbs read and 180mbs write)

I think with a dremel there is space to cut room for a second port. My plan is to get a USB3 dock/hub with the 3 ports and try and mod that.

I have sourced a new dock keyboard from Asusparts.eu http://www.asusparts.eu/en/partfinde...e%20pad/T100TA

Edit: Link to the keyboard dock and part number http://www.asusparts.eu/en/Asus-90NB0451-R30290
