I just had to use this method. Never expected to have any problems updating the BIOS. I had a fresh ISO install of windows 10 which obviously didnt have the pathway available to use Winflash.
I encountered problems accessing the system partition in Windows explorer after running the command line. Seems that windows 10 requires users to be in safe mode when they access these system partitions. Did the procedure in safe mode and now the new BIOS file is installing as I write this.

I almost, almost tried this method myself after hitting a road block with winflash. So glad I didn't or I would have been the laughing stock on this forum.

Just did this on my T100TA with Win10. Went to safe mode, created the EFI\ASUS\Firmware directory. Rebooted and tried winflash again and same buffer error.

Try doing the procedure in safe mode. Worked for me.

After you have done all of the original steps

run cmd.exe as administrator, Right click "run as administrator". Then type all of this:

    Code:
driveletter: drive letter of the system drive with a colon after it and hitting enter
cd EFI EFI should already exist, if not you can use the command mkdir EFI then cd EFI
    mkdir ASUS
    cd ASUS
    mkdir Firmware
    exit
You cannot normally access the folder via explorer and nor do you need to by doing this.
