T100CHI stuck in bios and won't boot

    Hi

Hope someone can help, haven't used my T100 for about 2 weeks and when I turn it on all I get is the bios screen.

I have tried resetting to defaults, saving and exiting and comes back to the same screen over and over again. Tried the power button and volume up but no difference, still bios screen.

I have no issue with wiping storage if needed.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Stu

Hi, we're sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue and we will be happy to assist you. Do you remember if there was a Windows Update prior to this issue starting?

No there wasn't a windows update, I think the last update was over a month ago.

It is now on Windows 10 (When it worked) as I accepted the free upgrade and it says it plays well with Windows 10 and was working fine for the last 8 months or so, just get nothing now other than the bios screen.

I have had some further investigation work carried out and it's a hardware fault with the onboard storage, I guess you suspected that having gone quiet when you realised it wasn't an issue that could be blamed on Microsoft.

I understand your point, and given the nature of their original reply, I can completely see why you expected some proper support. I didn't expect that, however, having seen the Asus_USA replies posted elsewhere on the forum.

To be honest with you, Asus_USA are infrequent visitors to the forum. We believe they are actually a team of people who are very low level employees who are more about presence than actual support.

That is why, as a forum, we added the signature to their user account trying to explain how to operate your warranty and also that this forum has no link to Asus in any way.

PLEASE Search for existing threads before posting a new one. Thanks.

Your opinion matters. But should you disagree - please try not to be disagreeable

Allow us to apologize about the delayed response. Based on the issue explained, it can be that the onboard storage is not being detected. However, we can check this. While inside your BIOS, navigate to "Security" then disable "Secure BOOT Control" or "Secure BOOT Configuration". After this go over to "BOOT" then enable "Launch CSM". If "Launch CSM" is not listed that's okay. Just check to see if your storage is listed. It can be named "Windows BOOT Manager". Set it as the first priority in "BOOT Priorities". If you're still not able to BOOT, send us an email to socialsupportus@asus.com with reference to Case#: N170807803. A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) will be needed to have your issue resolved. Again, we express our apologies for the inconvenience caused.
