    Micro SD card issue

    Hi guys,

I've got a question that's killing me.. does your T100 CHI have the problem with the Micro SD card still protruding slightly out of the slot, even when properly inserted?
i.e. the card doesn't sit flush with the tablet edge surface.

I've searched the web and could only find that it was a problem with the old Transformer models.

    Thanks!

Yep had that too, but a belt sander fixed it Now sits perfectly flush, only needed about 1.5mm removed and the circuit on my card was way further in than that. YMMV.

No. Way. You took a belt sender to your sd card? Weren't you worried?

Nope not worried, was only a very small amount needed to get it flush.

Obviously marked the SD and removed it from the Chi before giving the card a shave...

That is actually kind of brilliant. If I get the balls, I'll shave down the one in my T100. The last couple of mms don't have circuits in it, so you could shave it off.

After you give the card a shave, do you find it difficult to eject? The theory is you must push it in so the spring engages. Having it flush with the tablet body makes this a litte harder to accomplish?

    Just curious.

How confident is that statement for the various brands of microsd cards?

    EDIT: Look at this http://bunniestudios.com/blog/images/microsd_lineup.jpg

Some brands have transistors in that space.

Finger nail ejects it fine, its no more difficult. The products I design with SD cards have them flush with the casing and never had a complaint, was actually only the early versions that had the card proud of the case people complained so moved the card holder further in on the PCB.
