Question Poor Standby Battery ASUS T100HA

I am experiencing very unreliable battery drain,

    - Background apps disabled
    - Windows updates disabled
    - Asus software disabled

As an example see my battery log you can see at 20:51 it is 35.6% then at 23:05:07 it is 4.3% - all this time tablet had screen off

    Any suggestions?

Try these things - separately, or you won't know if either is the culprit...
    1) Detach the keyboard prior to leaving the tablet on standby
    2) Unmount & remove any micro/SD cards prior to standby

You don't use the keyboard? The supplied hardware keyboard? You only have a tablet?

Airplane mode (Bluetooth and WiFi Off) if that helps turn them off separately to see which is the culprit

Usually your discharge levels look to be the same as mine 0.1% > 0.3% per minute but there was one spike at 20:46 > 20:47 where the level went down about 3%, do you know what you were doing to cause that big drop in one minute. 3% per minute is close to the discharge level you experienced while in sleep mode so there might be a hint there
    Good luck

Sadly, ALL battery issues arise after Windows installs its updates. If you leave it FULLY STOCK, no updates, etc. you will preserve the near 12hr battery claim and better standby life. Otherwise, its ruined.

Not the case with me at all, I have all the updates, Asus and Windows, installed

I have never got 12 hours battery life nor have I ever seen that claim. I did see reviews where they got about 10 hours battery life and this was the case with me when my Asus Transformer Book T100TA was new.

My T100 is now 2 years and 6 months old and has been used heavily every day.
When possible (when at home) I charge it to only 75% and use it until 50% then charge again but I will charge to about 95% and use until about 10% when necessary (when out and about)
BatteryInfoView says my battery has done 839 charge/discharge cycles and Battery wear level is 88.2% (11.8% loss)
My latest test was 2 weeks ago when I 'drained' the battery to do a battery calibration and the results were Discharge 100% > 5% @ 75% Brightness = 7 hours 30 minutes of use
    Swipe likes this.

When I first got my T100TAM in October 2015, I started to get 10-11 hours of battery life. Then suddenly, in April 2016, battery life dropped below 5 hours (usually starts with 4:50 or thereabout after a full charge), and it's stuck there ever since.

That seems consistent with a Windows 10 update changing SOMETHING that affected battery life. Normal battery wear is gradual -- this was sudden. I made no significant changes to hardware or background software.

Any ideas what caused this or what to do about it?
