    Plugged in, not charging??

    Hello

I was a bit surprised because I left my T100HA in Hibernate mode for several hours plugged into the wall and when I came back it was only at 70%. Now that I started using it it is still not charging. The battery icon says "plugged in, not charging". So why the heck is it not charging? The device is brand new and I am using the original charger.

I should mention also that when I tried to turn the device on the last few times I had problems starting it. Had to try several times, holding down the power button etc, don't know what made the trick but I managed to start it.

Anyway, I desperately need this machine to start charging or I am left without a computer for three weeks. So please help me.

Updated to the latest BIOS and no change. Getting worried here... I have 57% battery left. This sucks.

Try turning it off then plug it into a running PC for 4-5 hours and see if the battery level goes up even a little. If so you may have a bad charger. If not, it could be the cable.

I changed to another outlet and suddenly it started charging. Then switched back to the first one and it still worked. Hoping this won't come back.

Sounds like an issue with the charger to me. Possibly something in the electronics. I think I would get another to ensure I had one in reserve.

I think you should expect the charger to be working and have it replaced by Asus in case it's not.

I agree - good idea. Trouble is they aren't likely to just replace the charger & are likely to want you to send the entire device and all leads & chargers back to them first. Then they'll discover nothing wrong & still take 2-4 weeks to do it.

    Your choice, of course...
