Question T100ha - battery drain when shutdown

    Hi,
    I have brand new (two weeks) T100HA 64GB 4GB RAM Win 10 x64.

I am using it as, a PC. Form most of the time it is shutdown (I disabled Windows Fast Startup) with connected dock and micro SD.

I noticed that in this state it is draining battery quite fast.
I measured it and the drain is 10% (92% to 82%) in exactly 3 days without use (turned on and not used iPad uses the same amount of battery percentage).

From my experience it is not normal because when I shutdown my laptop it losses about 1-2% for a week.

Can someone tell me if it is normal for ASUS and give an example how it looks in case of other T100 (TA, TAM, HA etc.)?

Thanks for the reply and any Idea what I can do to reduce battery drain.

    Welcome to the forum

Just to double check that when you say shutdown you are going to start - power - shutdown?

    Thanks for welcome .

Yes, that is exactly what I mean by shutdown.
Additionally as I mentioned before I have disabled Windows Fast Startup.

    I have made another test.

Exactly one day on shutdown with removed micro sd card and attached to dock.
Battery drain is 4% (from 82% to 78%).

Why the battery is discharging so fast when to computer is on shutdown (completely powered off).

Today I will test it separated from dock and we will see how it will be.

    Anyone has any other ideas?

    EDIT:

Today I have made another test.
I left it disconnected from dock for another 24 hours and in shutdown (powered off).

The battery drain is still 4% (from 74% to 70%) :/

    Anyone have any idea?
Is it defective or that is normal in Asus T100?

So i didn't use my t100ha the last three days and can finally test your scenario . For me, the problem does not occur. I shut it down at 75% on january 16 in the evening and when i turned it on today (january 19) i had 74%. I got the exact values through the "powercfg -batteryreport" command.

Do you have the latest bios and chipset drivers installed?

According to cup-z Bios is 211 and I can assume that chipset drivers are old too.

I used Asus Live Update before but I will update manually and we will see if battery drain still occurs.

Thx for the tip but I really don't understand how drivers and bios affect the battery when it is shutdown (powered off).

    edit:
OK, I have update bios to 214 and when I try to install SOC Driver Package (2015/12/14) it tells me that I already have thesame or newer.

So now I have newest SOC Drivers and Bios and it is time for another battery drain test
I will show my results in a day or two.

    edit2:
So after first 24 hours it looks very good . My battery drain was 0%.

I will do long test over the weekend but I am quite optimistic. I will post my result on monday.

    edit3:
So I have tested my T100HA from 24.01.2016 01:23 to 26.01.2016 19:55 and battery went down from 95% to 94%.

Form me this is big success and the problem is solved.

    Thx phinc.
