Battery totally drained in Windows 10

    Hello guys,

Three months ago i bought a T100 to replace an LG tablet (V500).

Well, very good tablet, good "notebook". Fast and thin, all i need in the moment.

Then, Windows 10 has launched, and i updated the T100. Here starts my problem.

Battery is just TOTALLY drained, with or without the dock plugged in. I tested a few times, charged to 100%, checked two days later, and... NO BATTERY! Fully dead!

I thought, cool, a battery phisical problem. And then i sent it to Asus RMA.

T100 back, let's start the tests!

First at all, i tested it for two weeks in Windows 8.1, with the stock Asus build. No problem. Battery charged, a few days ago. perfect, zero battery loss, again with and without the dock plugged.

Again, updated to Windows 10, guess what? Same damn problem.

WTF, a Windows 10 bug? Because it works fine in W8.

I really don't know what to do now. Só, if anyone can help with this, cause i'm almost throwing this on the floor!

Something in your settings must be causing the drain.

I've been running WIN10 on the T100TA here since WIN10 came out...and simply don't see any problem with battery life...in fact...it still has about 9.5-10.5 hours of use time, depending on the specific application(s) running.

As a point of reference, the same kind of experience comes with some of the latest smartphones. With "default" settings...some applications run in the background and use up the battery quicker - location services on the iPhone series is just one example of a battery-drain source.

You should go into the settings and see what apps are installed, running, and active.

I was thinking exactly this. I upgraded two laptops, and both are running fine.

Microsoft has complicated a lot the settings in this new version, because now we have the "control panel" and a "Settings" app, in some points, the second app link directly to Control Panel.

But i have no idea what i can check or change to possibly fix it....

Well, an update about this battery issue.

I left the T100 almost 4 days without any use, checked now and...? Good news, the battery still has 93%.

This time, T100 has not drained battery.

What was done? Well, nothing. I just updated to Win 10, installed some updates and left it for some days. Seems to be ok.

Maybe the update 1015 of Win 10 solved this? I don't know...

I'll put the T100 in use again and check the charge from now on...

    Good to hear!

Yes...the battery drain should likely not come back for you either. No problem here now, even on the previous WIN10 versions.
