t100 performance drop always at 10% battery, no way to change or adjust

    hi guys,

I've noticed this behaviour consistently on my 64gb t100. Soon as the battery level drops to 10% everything grinds to a halt. Can't watch any video anymore, windows open super slowly etc.
Connecting power does not help immediately, only after battery goes up to about 15% everything is back to normal.
I checked all power plans and there are no actions at 10% and nothing that I could change really in terms of performance.

I would like the tablet to run well until 5% at least otherwise it's like I only have 90% battery...

Anyone know a way to change/stop this behaviour?

don't ever run it down to 5%. my guess is that your tablet stops at 10% because any lower than that and you'll be degrading your battery's health already with the heavy graphic load.

ideally, you ought to charge when you hit the 50% or 40% mark. Yeah, it sucks because you're essentially getting just half of runtime of your battery, but it'll last longer that way compared to when you exhaust all its juice to the last drop.

there's a thread here somewhere that details all the dos and donts for Li-Ion batteries.

yeah i check power plan both economy & balance. the low battery action is at 6%. nothing to indicate action for 10% level. i dont know if u can reduce the 6% to even lower, it will affect the performance at 10%

CPU throttling kicks in at 10%, I am not sure if that can be changed, im guessing its bay trail design, so once you get to 10% you can still do basic tasks before it shuts down.

And you should be able to watch videos, use mpc-hc with hardware acceleration which only uses 2-5% of cpu.

Performance below 10% battery life is very bad

When my battery life drops below 10% the performance drops significantly on some parts. Browsing google chrome becomes very laggy, playing video games is impossible, watching streams (such as twitch.tv) becomes impossible, watching 720p or higher quality movies become impossible.

On the other hand I can watch lower quality movies (lower then 720p) without a problem or watch youtube videos without a problem.

I assume this has something to do with saving battery life at the last 10%? Is there a way to disable this "feature"?

You need to charge your battery rather than disable anything.

This "feature" is a blessing allowing us to finish and save important stuff before the T100 runs out of power, if this didn't happen T100 users would be complaining in droves
