Had to do a reset. Now How Dp I clean Adobe Reader so I can do a Fresh Install!

Hi. I had a few problems happening like keys stpp working on my keyboard then there was an auto update and everything went to shit. I had fatal errors and tried everything I could but wound up doing a reset. Things are working now but I am not able to install Adobe Reader. I have tried but keep getting message that it already is installed. I found the installer in the program data file and tried to run it several times but get an error 1722 that there is a problem with my installer package. I did the windows update and still have the issue. So either I fix the problem with the installer package or I completely remove any hint of Adobe Reader so I can do a new install. I am running Windows 8.1
Can anyone help me with this??????
