Windows Radio Alarm Clock App? Tasker App?

I've been wanting to use my T100 as a Radio Alarm clock. I have a couple nice Alarm Clock apps, that work pretty well and let me select Music files or built in alarm sounds. However, I like the old fashion Radio Alarm clocks where I wake up to something different every morning. I like to digest a little local news, weather, sports as I'm waking up.

I thought I found a decent App, that did all this which is Alarm Clock HD.
Alarm Clock HD app for Windows in the Windows Store

Overall, this is a good app, it looks nice, and has a bunch of built in radio streams to chose from where most of them seem to be European radio stations. Not that there's anything wrong with Euro radio stations, but I was hoping to find something that had a little more local content (Eastern U.S.) in regards to radio broadcasts, for instance local sports talk radio shows.

What would be perfect for me, is if the iHeart Radio app, TuneIn Radio or Slacker Apps had a built in Alarm Clock. I found out, iHeart Radio and TuneIn actually do have an Alarm clock function in their app.....except, that function is only available in the Android version of those apps and not the Windows version.

Another solution I read others use for a Radio Alarm clock on the Android side again, is an App called "Tasker". Essentially, this App has settings which allow you to launch other apps. So you can enter a time and have the tasker App, launch a specified app at a particular time. The problem is, I can't find a Windows App that would do the same type of thing. So I'm envisioning if there was a Windows Tasker type of app, I could have it launch Slacker, iHeart Radio, TuneIn Radio, or my Media Player app and have it launch and play whatever app I selected.

Does anyone know of a good U.S. content based radio Alarm Clock app?

Does anyone know of a Windows "Tasker" app equivalent?

Rather than wishing for something unavailable (yet?) in the far less mature Windows app world, just use an Android tablet and enjoy what you wish for today.

Windows has a task scheduler built in these instructions are for Win 7 but should be similar for Win8 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...#1TC=windows-7
Also, look for PC Alarm Clock (paid) or AlarmWiz (free..but not sure if for whole program).

Thanks, I had read about the Windows Scheduler and opened it up before posting, and found myself confused on how to use it. Thanks for the link on how to use it.

If you could figure out Tasker, you should be able to get this to work for you. I struggled with Tasker for a bit before I got it figured out. 😉

LOL!!! I figured tasker out by downloading one of the many user Macros that were created by someone else, found one that was close to what I wanted to do and tweaked from there.

Tasker seems pretty cool when I browsed through the available Macros. It seems really useful to trigger other events after another event happens. For example, plug in a pair of headphones and have tasker trigger off that event to launch your designated media app automatically.

I'm starting to think, it may not be worth my troubles. I also have an Asus Memo Pad 7 (ie Android), where I tried out TuneIn Radio and iHeart Radio's built in Alarm functions last night on the Android side of things. Today when each Alarm went off, I learned that I preferred iHeart Radio over TuneIN radio because, along with the Alarm waking me up to local Sports talk....iHeart gave me a "Snooze" button that TuneIn radio didn't have. I'm thinking, even if I do get Windows Scheduler configured for either of these apps.....I will give up that Snooze button feature. Programming a Snooze button function, seems like it falls out of the realm of possibilities for Windows Scheduler, unless I use the close app button as my snooze button and have Scheduler re-launch it every 10 minutes.

I'm currently working on a project with some of the people from iHeart Radio.......I'm going to have to ask them the next time we talk, "What's up with the no alarm clock function for your iHeart Windows app?" I'm sure they'll give me the story of how there currently isn't enough Windows phones in the market place and who would use their PC as an alarm clock?
