[ SOLVED ] Cannot install Winflash Version V2.42.0

After receiving information from Asus Live Update about "T100TAFWUpdate to enhance eMMC performance, must go with Bios V223 or latest version". I am currently on Bios V216 so I need to update to Bios v223 before proceeding. I am trying to install Winflash Version V2.42.0 downloaded from the Asus T100 support site. After extracting the files and starting the installation it stops, I get an error "Sorry this program only supports Asus Laptops". Does anybody know a solution?

    Thanks!

I believe you're the first to report this specific problem. Perhaps you got a corrupted download... if you've not already, download WinFlash again?

I also don't believe it's required to plug the T100 into power to "install WinFlash" but you'll definitely need power plugged in to install the new BIOS. Also, your system should have come with WinFlash installed. Might want to uninstall that "old WinFlash".

I read somewhere that you need to install the latest ATK (ATKACPI driver and hotkey-related utilities) so it is recognized as an Asus. I know you know how to download from the Asus support website but for the benefit of others
Go to your local Asus website @ ASUS
    Click on Support
Enter the Model Name of your T100. Model name can be found @
Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > System Information > System Model
Choose your OS. Windows 8.1 32 bit
    Open ATK
    Download the latest version

    Good luck

    Thank you rscheller and FrillyBits!

After installing the ATK drivers I was able to flash the Bios to V223.

Cannot install Winflash Version 2420 - Jan 2015

I have read and tried the solution proposed on a similar thread, here - http://www.transformerforums.com/for...v2-42-0-a.html.

My problem is the same as described in the earlier thread - when installing Winflash I get an error - "Sorry this program only supports ASUS notebook!". I have uninstalled and reinstalled ATK Package Version 100035 prior to trying to install Winflash. The ATK Package installation finished successfully. I want to install the newest BIOS 313, trying to improve the behavior of the touchpad. I have emailed ASUS Support twice and received the standard answer - try this, then try that, etc. Any solution to this pesky problem? Thanks.

I see a moderator moved my new post to a thread I referenced (this one), deleteded my reference and stuck my post at the end of the thread which last had a reply almost a year ago. I'll be amazed if I get any responses, so please amaze me. Thanks.

Sounds like you're trying to install an incompatible version of Winflash. Your T100 should have come with the proper version of Winflash already installed. Have you tried to update to 313 using that one?

Also, since you didn't provide your device model and other particulars, it's possible you're trying to apply 313 BIOS updates to the wrong model. There is one model where the latest BIOS is 207. It's been written about here and 313 won't work.

As for posting to on older but subject correct thread, these forums will pop the thread to the top of all threads and flag it as having "new content".

    Are you amazed?
