Chrome OS on ASUS Transformer Book T100TAM-DK002B

    Hello all, my first post.

Has anyone experimented with Chrome OS on this TF model?

If so, I would like to know how it went, any issues with it and such please.

I am considering buying this model, as it is on sale in my country atm.

    Thanks in advance.

not sure why you'd want chrome OS specifically.
you can just run Chrome in Metro mode (on windows 8) an it basically performs like Chrome OS.

Fair point - and also you can't get Chrome OS. You'd have to run ChromiumOS, which isn't as good...

    Thanks for the advice!
I never used win8 much, big fan of win7 so I didn't know about metro option.
To your question on why use Chrome OS, mainly because I will be using the tablet for school only, and everything at school is based on google logins. So knowing I would only use it for school, I was thinking it would be better to switch to Chrome OS.
Mostly because of the lighter OS, faster boot time, and some options like AirPlay (which I now know can be done also on windows using AirParrot)
Again, thanks for the advice, I will stay with win8.1 for a while and see how it works

I'm a student using it, and just using googlechrome and google drive is all I need. Chrome OS is not something I need nor want. Too constrictive.

Also, if you put Chrome OS onto the T100 it could result in bugs here or there and since no one else has really done it before any problems you run into will be MUCH harder to solve than if you just stay with Windows 8.1 / Windows 10.

I find Chrome OS to be a revelation. Restrictive? No way. I am amazed at what can be done with it.

But the whole point of it is that it is on Chromebooks. The one I have cost £119 ($140-150 net of tax) delivered. For an HP 14" 4gb RAM machine that is lightning fast & which has 8 hours of battery life, that is a bargain. Run a business from it, too.

I doubt I'll ever have to bother with the maintenance and jumping through hoops that Windows machines insist upon ever again. And I'm very, very glad
