I think that I have a setting wrong, or I just can't do it. I have tried Toshiba usb 2.0, and sandisk 3.0 usbs the same thing happens

You tried the DD image with GPT partition UEFI setting and formatted to FAT32?

I can't get ANY USB stick to boot at all - whether DD or ISO or 64 bit or 32 bit, whether Secure boot is off or on or anything, whether Ubuntu 14.04 or Linux Mint.
    What's going on?

    Thank you,
Can you provide exact steps needed to enable Launch CSM option?

My t100tam doesn't even have a general tab (nor is there anything CSM related under the boot tab).

I believe these devices only support UEFI booting, not CSM. Any bootable media used must be UEFI compatible.

Edit: I don't think we should expect to have full bios options in this type of device. It is a tablet after all. Does any tablet support CSM compatibility?

I have a late 2011 asus laptop (z54c) which lacks many features in the bios, but does let you enable/disable uefi.

For access to legacy software we'll need to keep some older machines around. For example, any new WD hd I buy, i disable the head parking feature (wdidle). This keeps the drive from parking the heads after x amount of seconds (8 seconds is default iirc). This may be a useful feature in a laptop but not a desktop. The utility that changes this setting only works under dos, with the port defined as an IDE port, not sata.

I have similar problem. I want to install Ubuntu. I create bootable USB several times, using Rufus and others. Last attempt which I tried [1]. I am able to enter menu, I choose bootting from USB, but nothing happens, Windows normally starts. Doesn't anyone has any idea what could be wrong?

^^Does your usb flash drive installer contain the proper files for uefi boot? This tablet is only capable of booting in uefi mode. Contrary to what the asus rep above says, this tablet does not support csm or legacy booting.
