Add usb 3.0 functionality to T100TAF

hi guys i've just bought an Asus T100TAF.
since i bought it without some earlier research i've noticed this kind of model doesnt have a usb 3.0 on the dock station.
are there any way to add this functionality?
if i attach one usb to ethernet dongle to my system will my connection be limited to the usb 2.0 maximum speed (around 30 mbps iirc)?
thanks in advance for your reponse

    Welcome to the forum

You can't simply convert a 2.0 port to a 3.0 port. a) the port configuration is different b) the chipset is also different.

The only way to do it is if you have a desktop with free PCI slots.

The max theoretical speed of a USB 2.0 connection is 480 mbps, or about 60 MBps. Much faster than your typical 10/100 Ethernet. Even if you're going to be using gigabit Ethernet, only need to really worry about USB 3 if you plan on actually using it to its max (or at least, more than about %50 of its potential).
If you're trying to push more than a few hundred megabits per second out of any USB port on this thing then your biggest hurdle is probably going to be the processor and other elements of the system holding up the application creating/processing that much data. USB 3 really is good to use with fast hard drives and USB display adapters.
    Good luck!

    But it does...

Actually, if you enter the bios, XHCI (USB 3.0) can be enabled on the T100TAF. Windows will then recognize that a USB 3.0 controller is attached to the system. I recently purchased a keyboard dock pcb with a USB 3.0 port and installed it into my original keyboard dock. The keyboard and Trackpad functioned, however the usb port only powered on devices with out the system recognizing them. I suspect the dock port and/or the cable to the pcb (hopefully on only the dock, and not on the tablet) do not have the all of the wires for USB 3.0. My point is, the T100TAF most certainly has a USB 3.0 controller.
