    T303UA problem with touchpad

    Hi all,
I have a T303UA for one month, i7, 16GB, SSD 500 GB with Windows 10. The performance is great and it's indeed very quick, but the usability is not very good, specially the touchpad that after 10 min starts flickering and makes very difficult to work. I found that if I remove it and put it back again it starts working well again for 10 min, but this is no real solution, I can't stop working each 10 min to detach the keyboard and put it back again. I have updated to all the last drivers and problem stills remains, the only solution I found was to get an external mouse connected to the USB port, but again, coming from a Macbook Air for the last 4 years having to carry a mouse it's like going back in history and kill the lightweight concept I was looking. Anyone has a similar problem? Any ideas of how to solve it?

Did you find a solution to this problem? I have the same issue. Works fine for about 5-10 minutes and then is so jumpy that it's not usable and even dangerous as it clicks and moves files around. I've got 5 days to return the device, it's looking more and more like it's going to go back.

    Thanks.

    Hi Peelay,
Unfortunately I couldn't a solution and ASUS is still stating that the touchpad hasn't nothing wrong with it...
I'm now using an external mouse and I overcame the problem but it's a huge step back coming from a Macbook Air where the external mouse, included in the original unit pack, another difference from ASUS, isn't need at all because you can do all the work with touchpad.
More than the defect that is annoying, ASUS reaction of ignoring it is making seriously considering not buying anything more from ASUS.

In our company we bought 2 from PCDIGA - Lisboa in November 2016, all with the touchpad problem. My colleague did a RMA and he was going to collect it next monday but after many complains because they said the "repair" was Windows and drivers reinstallation, it will be sent back to ASUS for more tests. We explained showing several complains from people from all over the world, including from specialised magazine reviews that the problem is on the hardware.

I would advise you to do the same, to go back and demand a solution, after many situatuions they have to admit that this a factory production issue.

    Regards,

Welp, after about a month and a half of light use my Keyboard started doing the same thing. It almost disconnects for a a few seconds then reconnects.... very very frustrating when trying to type. I have emailed Asus who says I will have to send it back in for repairs. Not sure what could possibly be causing this as mine has never been taken from my house and has been used probably under 15 hours.

I bought mine 3 months ago or so and have exactly the same problem. It's exasperating because the device is a pleasure to use in every other respect and yet I can't safely work on it for more than 5 minutes before the touchpad starts to jump all over the place.

Occasionally the keyboard and touchpad completely disconnect and the keyboard backlight turn off and it seems to just take random movements to make them reconnect.

Any updates from anyone on solutions and/or how Asus dealt with it? I'm dreading having to send it in because I don't have time to spend without a computer.

After having my transformer pro 3 sent back in and fixed it is malfunctioning again. They stated I needed to re send it back in to have it repaired as it is still under warranty. Time without a computer is time without business for me. This is a known problem with these devices and Asus does not want to acknowledge it. Sure this device is great... when it actually works.... I will be very hesitant to ever purchase one of their products again.

Random question as also looking into this issue or one like it. When the issue occurs, using your other hand have you tried grounding yourself to the main pc by touching the case or maybe some metal just inside the usb port or similar and does the trackpad behave when you do this.

Referring mainly to the jumpy trackpad problem here, wondering if its a side effect of the tech used (sensitive to field strength, static in particular?) and the mostly plastic keyboard case.

Also worth noting if it happens when in a particular place, or on power cord, etc

    Just a thought
