Question Memo pad will not turn on/boot up

07/15/2013 Woke up this morning, had charged my Memo pad last nite, tried to boot up by holding down start button for 30 seconds. I have a red light on the corner on the button to turn on. Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks grandpabill63

    Hi Bill

First of all, welcome to the forum

Secondly, you have posted two threads asking the same question - so I have deleted one of them. Please try to only post once for each question you have. Thank you.

To begin with, let's clarify that the tablet is, in fact, charged. Please check that the charger is correctly assembled and that all the parts are clipped together well. Probably best to disassemble it & then reassemble it. Then plug it into a different outlet and see if the tablet powers on when the outlet is turned on.

If the situation is that the MeMo is charged, then here are a couple of things to try...
    1) As the tablet is off, start with a cold boot (see link in signture) - or
    2) Try a loooooooong press on the power button - hold it down for up to 60 seconds

Let us know how you get on.

Memo will not boot up also....

Thank-you Janner43 for your suggestions - we have tried all of them. Our tablet will not boot up as well. It is fully charged and we have tried the long press on the power button, the cold boot and also found another suggestion for pressing the reset button next to the MicroSD slot. Nothing happens during any of these.
When it is plugged in, sometimes you can get the Asus to show on the screen for about 1-2 seconds, then it shuts down again.
We bought this from Best Buy 16 days ago and of course their return policy is 15 days. Anybody have any other suggestions for us? I hate the thought of sending it off to Asus already.

    Welcome to the forum

I suggest trying a Factory Reset using the physical keys (see the how to Factory Reset guide linked from the Master Help Guide - method 2)

I also suggest trying the return to Best Buy as no piece of hardware that fails in the way you describe should be rejected by a decent retailer this soon after purchase.

    All the best

Hi all - Looking forward to the help here.
My Memo FHD10 battery died so I gave it an overnight charge. Turned it on today with the regular press of the power button and it lit up no issues. I get to the "Asus In search of incredible" screen with the rotating dots and it just sits there - dots just rotating away - Never boots up. I tried the cold boot and it doesn't do any different - no icons/text.
    Suggestions?? Thanks
