Yes i tried the kernel installer but am trying to lean towards the battery saving end of things rather than performane. I have found the night time battery drain to be a little high but it could just be the calibration of the battery for the first couple of days

Yeah the night time drain is pretty bad. I use "Battery Saver Pro". It's made by the same guys that make Antutu benchmark and there is a free version for you to test it out.

Can anyone check if the compass works in this ROM with Google Sky Map?
(I also don't know if it works in the stock ROM)

I would assune, that if it works n your own device in stock it will work the same way, since cromi is based off stock, ituses most of the same framework and isnt built from scratch like other roms so i think it will work. I will check my tf300.........yep sky map works with only magnetic compass. I also changed the sensitivityand damping for the sensor inside the app

So you confirm that, even in stock tf300, Sky Map doesn't rotate automatically?

It has always worked for me regardless of stock or not
