Memo7HD will no longer connect with my wifi network

I bought my Memo 7HD in December and it is my first tablet and up to a week ago, it has been flawless. I have connected to my wifi network and a few other networks in my area without a problem but in the last week it won't connect. I have read that many others are having a similar problem as well and I have tried many of the suggested fixes but with no success. I am running a Netgear N600 3700RV2 wifi modem. When I attempt to connect, the Memo7HD searches for an IP address but doesn't connect and eventually I get a message saying "avoided poor internet connection" when I have a full fan symbol showing for the site. I also periodically get an announcement message in the upper left hand corner "Wifi network available." Why won't it connect? Unfortunately without wifi connectivity, I just have a near useless tablet. I admit to a novice level understanding of tablets, Wifi and most technical aspects of computers so perhaps someone far smarter than me might suggest something other than "back to factory settings" which I understand is the last resort before obtaining an RMA from ASUS. Thanks. It's good to be a part of the forum.

    Welcome to the forum

You said you tried a lot of things but few you didn't mention, restarting the router, telling the tablet to forget the connection, restarting the tablet then trying to connect again. Trying to connect elsewhere since the problem started.

I've done all those things plus turning on and off wifi optimization, airplane mode and rebooting wifi modem, changing channels, changing WPS setting, turning off all security briefly and so far no luck. Next stop check with my neighbor who is a computer consultant and knows networks inside and out. After that it will be backup to my 32 G memory card and reset to factory settings. If that doesn't work, it'll be get an RMA from ASUS and send it back for them to take a look. Thanks for the reply.

I would try your neighbor's WiFi or a public hotspot before going much further but your neighbor will probably have the same idea.

    Question

    Was this issue ever resolved?

Today I started experiencing the exact same issue with my MeMo tab. So far I've tried:
    - Restarting the MeMo pad
    - turning off the MeMo pad and rebooting
    - turning off my wireless router and restarting it.
    - told the device to "forget" the SSID so I could reconnect and reenter my password.

As the original poster indicated, the device finds my home SSID and other SSIDs near me, attempts to connect, but it hangs at "Obtaining IP address" and generates a message that it avoided a slow connection (even though I was sitting 4 feet from the router, and the device shows all bars on my wifi as full).

My other wireless devices connect to the router just fine.

I haven't been out to test my MeMo on a public wifi source.

    Any other ideas?
