Reset to factory

I want to give away the tablet to my son who is using another Google account.
I understand I have to reset the device to same way it came from the factory.

Is the following way the correct one?

Settings
Backup & reset
Factory data reset

As I understand the device will go back to it's original settings and my son will have to register it to his Google account.

Correct?

Yes, that is correct. When you power it on after the factory reset it will have the setup wizard.
