    Memory capacity

Do I understand it correctly that there is a 1MB limit to the size of books that can be downloaded?

That couldn't be right, it can have a 32MB SD card, and most books are have many MBs!

I guess my question was, is there a basic limit of 1MB per book. Not how many megabites one can load in total. I am having problems loading books that are over 1MB. Ones smaller than that are no problem at all. Any ideas?

Some apps may have a limit to what size books they can load. I have only used the Kindle app with kindle books I got from Amazon so I cannot comment. I know some of the word processing software has had trouble with large (10MB+ files). Contacting the developer has helped get it resolved.

I would see about contacting the developer, unless this is one of the in built default apps. If it is the default app, then perhaps try another one from the Play Store to see if it works better.

Well... I can do a test for you tomorrow.

I read e-books on my Kobo Mini. I own a LOT of e-books, which I store on my PC and transfer them to the Kobo Mini
when I want to read them. Up to now I haven't read e-books on my Memo Pad. I prefer e-ink screens for reading novels.
    Easier on the eyes.

I've tested PDF files, though, and they display well on the Memo Pad.

I'll transfer a few large e-books to the Memo Pad tomorrow. Just to test if they are readable. I've not installed
any other e-book reader than stock.

TDR, that sounds like a good test. I still cannot download large books over WiFi, but tonight I downloaded one (3.18mb) by downloading it to my computer, then copying it to my Tablet connected to my computer by a USB cable. The book came across correctly, except for one little thing. Some of the books I want to use on my tablet (downloaded as epub) have subdivisions within chapters (like the Bible for instance). The hot links for the subdivisions (chapters) do not work. You can leaf through each page to find a chapter with in the book (Matthew for example) but the links to the chapters don't work. The links work on the computer, as well as on other tablets (of friends). Any ideas or help?

    Thanks.

Well, I've transferred "A Memory of Light", the 14th book in the Wheel of Time series to the tablet. Then I downloaded
Moon+ Reader from the Play Store and installed it.

    Works like a charm!

I am not aware of any size limitation that isn't determined by the app being used. If you are trying to use "MyLibrary", then I suggest you give up on it as it really isn't very good at all...

In my signature is a link that gives a lot of information about e-reading on your tablet, together with suggestions for e-reading apps.

As far as bible reading is concerned, I recommend the YouVersion Bible app by LifeChurch.tv - over 100 million installs across all platforms. Over 10 million installs on Android alone with a rating of 4.8 from over 698,000 ratings. You can download various versions of the bible to read offline when away from a wifi connection, too.

    Cheers
