    Welcome to the forum

    You have two choices:
    1) Factory Reset using the hardware keys
    2) Manual reflashing of your firmware

Both processes will wipe your tablet & you will loose your data, but you have it all backed up don't you.
Both processes are explained in detail in guide threads linked from the Master Help Guide, linked from my signature, below.

Let us know how you get on

I'm not sure everything is backed up. have been told a firewire cable may work to get data off and onto computer even though tablet isn't booting. is this true? Is there any other way to get my data off before I try factory reset? Also is a factory reset successful with this problem most the time?

No way that I know of to get the data off. That's why we have backups. A FireWire cable definitely will not work.

If you don't want to try the reset, try the manual reflash. Those are your only two options for this issue. Assuming, that is, that a long press on the power button to cause a reboot doesn't work. But I doubt it.

On the off chance that you are more technically minded than the normal member, the problem is normally that you have a corrupted partition. A Factory Reset will reformat the likely suspect partition. You may need a manual reflash as this does a similar, but more thorough job.

If you are really unlucky, your device will be toast unless you can get a custom recovery on it so you can reformat each partition on the device.

There is no way to get the data off now. If you had a custom recovery already and that recovery had an internal file browser and/or supported adb, then yes, you could pull the data off. But all that is mute. There is no way to get a custom recovery flashed now. So just accept that your data is lost and let it be a lesson to always have a backup. Especially for any mobile device....

Since the link is still on my clipboard, here you get instructions for manually restoring the firmware on your pad. Written for other Asus tablets but works on the Memo 10, just read closely and you'll see
    [GUIDE] How to manually update/restore firmware (TF101, TF201, TF300, TF700, TF701)
