I am going to try a different charger and cable and see if that helps, I really don't want to have to return it, if that don't help then back it will go.

Make sure you make up your mind before the return period is over (sometimes it's 14 days) otherwise you will be dealing with the less than ideal RMA system.
It could very well be that your charger is faulty.

Thank you for the reply. I went ahead and ordered a replacement.

I received my second tablet and it behaves in the same way. I watched some videos for about 4 hours and the power went from 100 all the way down to 60%. I switched chargers [2.1amp Griffin] and cords and watched some more and it still lost power while plugged in. My 2 week return period is now over so there's no going for lucky number 3. I know watching videos over wifi is demanding a lot of power, along with the other 32 apps battery doctor is telling my that are running. But I would think at worst the power level would stay at the starting level. It charges fine when the tablet is in sleep mode.

I've solution of slow charging
I've found reason of slow charging of my asus
If usb connector and charging are good, TRY TO RECONNECT FLEX CABLE IN BOTH SIDES
from pcb board where usb power connector and than flex goes around of speaker
