Welcome to the forum.
AFAIK none of the native android apps play wma files but there are alternatives.
Check these out...WMA players
Power amp and Jet audio are popular with a lot of us here.
spent lots o' time adding music to my MemoPad and cannot find a Google Play player that will play them,
secondary to that, I would like to remove them if there is not a player that I can use...but how???
Also, is it possible that because I live in Canada that the Google Play Music pre-loaded app won't work???
actually I have been all over that page and the Power amp Trial is apparently not compatible with my tablet...but will keep tryin'
Moved from general discussion to memo pad general

Welcome! You may want to convert the files to mp3. Google music does not work for us Cunucks. Have you tried winAmp? May play WMA. To remove them you could just delete them, or drag and drop them back to your PC if you wish. Get a file explorer app like ES file explorer, free on the play store, and then you can navigate through your files and delete as you wish.
