    Welcome to the fonepad Forum!

Asus's latest announcement from MWC is a new 7" phone/tablet all in one. Jonney's main point was to stop carrying a phone AND a tablet and combine them into one 7" device.

Here are the specs from the unveil:

    FonePad details:

    OS: Android JellyBean
    Aircraft aluminum back plate
    7" 1280x800 display
Intel Atom Z2420 1.2 GHz processor
    1GB RAM
    PowerVRSGX540 GPU
    Front Camera - 1.2 MP
    Rear camera - 3.0 MP
MicroSD slot up to 32 GB
Battery - up to 9 hours of runtime

    2 Models have been announced:
8GB - $249 in March for the US market
16 GB - 219 in April for the European market

If you think you want one, or already have one, this is the place to be!

Asus Transformer 16 GB & Dock - Munching on Jelly Beans
    crApple iP*one 5 - Stock

Just once I want someone to call me Sir without adding you're making a scene.

Well, just bought one of these fonepads from Carphone Warehouse, you'd think they didn't want to sell them as I even had problems persuading a salesman to open the box as they didn't have a demo one available. First impressions are, it's very slippery to hold. Seems to use a strange sort of micro usb lead as a standard lead won't fit, and its lead won't go into my Samsung Galaxy S3. Not having any experience of other 7 inch tablets apart from viewing in store, it looks like most others.

So far I've managed to download quite a lot of the apps I have on the S3 onto the fonepad, but as I expected the ones for video playing won't work and as yet I have no drivers for them to play xvid or divx avi files. Copilot seems to be ok, but without using it on a trip, I've no confirmation of problem free use.
Apart from that, it's early days and I'm looking forward to experimenting with the standard settings and applications.
