Smile Asus Transformer is awesome but...

Been following the Asus Slide as well what are people's thoughts on this nifty looking design? Ignore Specs as they are pretty much identical to the Transformer.

I'm actually quite tempted to buy one to see what they are like.

I've read 3 reviews now that specifically cited the smaller size and keyboard as problematic for users...simply too small in their view.

Since I haven't seen one close up yet, its hard to say...but all 3 said the same basic thing on that point.

The slide is heavier than the TF tablet only but lighter than the TF + dock AND the slide only advertises 6 hours of battery life. Did I mention it only has 1 angle you can set the screen at too.

the form factor of the slider is not a very nice feature. you cant remove the keyboard so you're pretty much stuck with its weight and bulk. i also don't think you can use the keyboard in portrait mode.

I bought the Slider. Review with photos HERE.
    - Yes, it is heavier than any tablet without a keyboard. About that same or less than most when you carry along a keyboard with them.
    - Yes, the screen is fixed at one angle. It happens to be at the perfect angle to your eyes when you're using it though.
    - The internal battery size is a hard spec to find. If I knew how big it was I could give you a decent idea how long a charge would last.
    - No, you can't use the tablet with keyboard extended in portrait mode.

The proximity of the screen to the keyboard works well considering most go back and forth from keyboard to screen. The smaller keys hasn't been an issue for me. The on-screen keyboard is smaller still.

    Great review, 4dthinker, thanks.

Looks like a nice alternative to the TF+dock and is proof ASUS engineering is a step ahead of everyone else.

I think the TF+dock combination adds several advantages (more battery, more ports, screen protection, trackpad, bigger keyboard) with a minimal impact in portability and cost.

The other tablets instead... Just selecting a Bluetooth keyboard you get the same funtionality, but the disadvantages are big in comparison with both ASUS tablets (portability, one more battery powered device to charge, pairing, etc.)
    Android Devices:
    - Asus Transformer TF101 16 GB B70 w/Keyboard Dock B60
    - Motorola Milestone
