    GPS and sensors going crazy

    hi there,

i've had the slider for about 3 months now and love it, there are just two things that bug me:

when using Maps or any Compass App, the compass just goes crazy... It just indicates random directions...
Also connecting to a GPS Satellite is very slow (tested this out in the open, away from any tall buildings)...
could this be just a firmware bug, or may i have a faulty Slider???

    Any help is appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum

Haven't had this question in quite a while. Hold the tablet horizontal to the floor with it on and do large figure eights in front of you. Keep it as flat as possible. That should recalibrate the compass, unless you have a particularly magnetic personality. , in which case it may not work.

You may want to try GPS Fix as well

I downloaded 2 compass apps, Super Compass and S-Compass. I ran then consecutively without moving the tablet. Both apps run in portrait mode. The 2 apps read about 90 degrees off from each other. That makes no sense to me. S-Compass was correct.

For whatever reason most of the compass apps aren't doing the job. If the figure 8 didn't work the first time try it again. The only compass app that seems to work reliably is one included with a app called Swiss Army Knife.

Question: Have all your tests been in the same location? The reason I ask is because I have seen problems like this before, (not on a transformer) that turned out to be environmental. In one case it was because of some stereo speakers. In short, does it do that outside away from any structures or power lines?

i have tested it away from tall buildings and power lines... same problem... i'm beginning to think that i may have a faulty sensor...
i'll try installing a custom rom (still deciding between Krakd or Revolver) and see if there's improvement, but i doubt this is just a firmware bug.
if it were, a lot more people would be having the same problem.
