Tablet Battery Replacement
I'mv okay presently, but the thought crossed my mind about how I would go about replacing the battery in my slider should it fail in the future?
Mobile phones typically have replaceable batteries so it is a no-brainer replacing those, however with tablets it seems be the case that the battery isn't accessible to the user, and presumably requires that the tablet has to be dis-assembled in order to change the battery. Which given that rechargeable batteries have a finite life doesn't sound like good news.

You've answered your own question there
The battery in all theses devices is not a "user serviceable part". You *could* try to do it of course, but why would you? If it is in warranty, Asus will do it & you are more than likely to have replaced your sl101 within 2/3 years anyway & the battery should easily last that long.
If you really are concerned, you would need to sell your slider & replace it with a different brand that does have a replaceable battery. I think Toshiba make one

Fair point I suppose, and the way the tablet market is evolving today's tablet will be eligible for inclusion in the science museum this time next year

I guess we've entered the era of $500+ disposable devices?? I better get an additional job. Or two.

I have a TF-101 that will soon be in need of a new battery. I use it constantly and am now down to 5-6 hours of constant use.
Telling me to buy a new tablet does not solve anything. My present tablet is perfectly functional.
Can anyone offer a battery replacement procedure? Has anyone done this?

The battery in all theses devices is not a "user serviceable part". Having said that, there are plenty of guides on the net about dismantling your tf101. You might buy a replacement battery here...
