    no sound from audio jack

    Have a tf running 3.1

I plugged. In the same headphones that work on my old iPod Kano.

The pop-up said the the audio jack is connected, but no sound from headphones. When watching visit or music.

    I have rebooted the tf.

    Any thoughts?

    Tia

Sorry but I have to ask the obvious, have you pressed the up volume button a couple times to make sure that the volume isn't off?

no problem with the obvious. Yes, the volume was up.

however, the headphones that i had have an "extension" cord, and the two were not connected. I guess i was somewhat sitting on the cords and didn't realize the two were not connected.

    thanks!

    No Sound from Earphones

    Hi there,

I'm a new member here. Man, I'm loving this tablet. I'd hate to find any issues with it but unfortunately no sound is coming out of my earphones. The internal speakers are working. It happen when I quickly removed the earphones and quickly put them back in. I'm guessing something is stuck with the jack and it assumes nothing is plugged, regardless of whether the earphones are in there.

Any recommendations? Is it as easy as WD40 or can the tech guy from the retailer help me out?

    Thanks a bunch.

Please don't squirt WD40 into the jack socket...

When you plug the earphones in, do you still get sound out of the speakers? If not, it doesn't sound like there's a problem with the socket.

When the earphones are not plugged in, the internal speakers work as expected. When I plug the earphones in, the speakers cut out as expected but there's no sound coming out of the earphones. Could it be some setting with my tablet. Is there some kind of diagnostic app I could use?

    Cheers.

Oh, and one more thing. This morning when I was getting frustrated with it, it seemed like the sound came in for about half a second then cut out again. It's the only sound I've been able to get out of the earphones since this issue came up yesterday.

Sorry. I should have mentioned these earphones work fine with my laptop and cheap MP3 player.
