The top 2 office suites on the TF (and Android) are Documents To Go and QuickOffice.

I have been working with the default Polaris Office and it seems to work OK for most of my needs thus far. Also, none of the office suites offer a built in spell check.

I read a lot here about getting the $15 Documents to Go. If you need to open password-protected office files, then you'll need to spend the $15 (but note that Docs-to-Go can only handle "97-2000 compatible" encryption and not any of the later password protect options). Note that you also cannot password protect files that you create on Docs-to-Go using the tablet.

Password aside, I kind of prefer Polaris actually -- although BOTH are very limited as compared to using the real Office on a PC. Anything but a simple file, I would still want to create on my PC -- and rely on TF to view and do simple updating/editing.

I use quick office pro on my Atrix. Seems to work well. There is a lite version so you can give it a try.

Where do you find this trial version? All I've seen is the $19.99 version in the Market.

    Hello,

I have been trying to use the free versions of 'Documents To Go' and 'OliveOffice Pro' - both of these seem to have one major problem - and that has to do with the way removable media get mounted on the Transformer.

These refuse to look anywhere other than under '/sdcard' whereas the removable media is mounted as '/Removable/MicroSD' on the Transformer and only Polaris seems to be able to open files from there.

    Any alternatives or solutions please?

Use a file manager to open your file it should give you a choice of application to with. The TF comes with a file manager but I like Astro File Manager instead and its free

    Thanks a lot.
That seems to have solved a problem - which in my opinion should never have been a problem!
I am able to use the files now.
    Thanks once again.
