Problems with Skype... Any Suggestions? Other VOIP Solutions?

I have a Skype "Unlimited US and Canada for $2.99 a month" subscription. I have two problems with Skype on my brand new Transformer (Honeycomb3.2):

1. No video calling (ok, I can live with this)

2. No subscription calling - my current subscription (described above) doesn't show up at all.

I purchased the Transformer to replace my iPad for my long travels overseas. It's hard enough to juggle 14-hour difference and harder still to coordinate family and friends back home and in Canada to stay close to their PC's and have Skype opened. I will miss calling their cell or land line directly using Skype!

Does anyone have any suggestions? What other VOIP services let people call cell phones / land lines for free or for a low cost?

Skype for Android is not available with full functionality yet. If you search VOIP at the market, there are alternatives.

Thanks, Jeffey. I am a two-days old Android newbie as well. Can you (or anyone else) recommend a good Android VOIP app?

I posted on another part of the forum, test it out. I have the $2.99 Subscription for +1 numbers. When I call a number it shows the cost is $0.00/min once I connect. The volume is quite low, but I usually use my iPhone for calls anyway.

Thanks! Yeah, the volume is very low -- although OK enough when in a quiet room and I max the volume control on the tablet. But hey, at least it works.
