Recent Apps list
Hey everyone, I apologize if this has already been discussed. As you can see, I'm new here...
Is there a way to turn off the 'recent apps list' function? I've got nothing to hide but don't need 'a list' taking up space on the tablet. Can't seem to figure it out...
Thanks so much!

AFAIK, you have to be rooted to get rid of it.

It should be hidden unless you call it up so I'm not certain where the problem is. Basically it can't be turned off but you can reduce the list by swiping each item to the right. A restart will do away with the list for the time being.

Thanks guys (especially for the quick response) It's not a big deal, I just noticed that everything I had done for two days is there, thought I'd keep things clean. I think it's also a 'I can't do that? Why not??" kind of thing.
Thanks!

Very cool, was unaware you could just swipe to the right! I'll have to try that when I get home.

No reason to keep it clean. Android does a very good job of managing system resources. The OS will stop processes as it needs to, keeping in memory only what it can handle.
There are endless discussions in may forums about the benefits of and need for task killer apps. I'm in the camp of those thinking they are unnecessary and just mess with a system that manages tasks well already.

Sweeping away the recently apps isn't killing the task, just removing it from the list. I think OP just wants to keep it visually clean.
