    Idisplay vs. Air Display

    Hi

Both Idisplay and Air Display turn your phone or tablet into a 2nd or 3rd monitor for your computer. Both have pretty mixed reviews on the play store.
Just wondering if anyone has used either of those, (or both) and what their experiences were with the Transformers.

    I have used iDisplay.

First, on a Win7 PC it disables the sexy Aero Glass. When using it, sometimes I cannot click on the buttons on my task bar to see multiple instances of the apps.

Secondly, it uses a lot of resources to run.
Here is a screenshot of my resource usage before launching iDisplay (running on an Intel i7-2620M @2.70 GHz) :

Here is one after opening the iDisplay on the PC and connecting to it:

And another after disconnecting the iDisplay. Midway through this is where I actually closed the iDisplay software and you can see the CPU usage finally dropped down:

Thirdly, it is quite laggy. IF it worked via USB, it would be faster. It only works through WiFi (even with debugging checked). Trying to type something on the iDisplay monitor, well it has about a 2-4 second lag. Same with scrolling.

Finally - check out this video of it (it is the Mac-iPad version) but my experience is identical and I do not feel like taking a video of it.

Frederuco pretty much said it all when it comes to iDisplay. Haven't had time to do much with Air Display, yet.

    thanks for the responses.
I guess it would only be useful for monitoring something, like the task manager, rather than something interactive. Not terribly useful if there is that much lag.

I recently bought Air Display, for my work mac. I use Excel in my tablet's side, and firefox in the main screen. I beta test a online website application, and this helps me from having to use 'spaces.'

I will try it on my 64bit Windows 7 Home Premium laptop when I get home, either today or tomorrow.
(Majority of posts will be on Xparent Tapatalk Red with my LG Optimus or Infinity)
    Thanks,

This may happen on some graphical adapters, which is caused by their peculiarities, sorry.

Newer iDisplay versions connect both via USB and WiFi and work faster.
