    Turn off android

Is there a way to force Android to turn off if your display isn't working? I've held the power button down for upwards of a minute, but it seems to still be on.

Also is there a button one can press (with a paperclip) to reset it?

Which device are we talking about?
Pressing the power button brings up the power menu. Long pressing it reboots the unit - on most tablets....
If you have a HDMI cable, connect the tablet to your TV, press the Power button and hunt and peck on the screen until you hit the Power Off option.
Or wait until the battery dies.....

TX201. The tablet doesn't have an external display and so far as I can tell once Android starts booting the display on the tablet dies and I cannot use it until the battery dies, then I can start using/debugging it again....until it goes too far...so I was hoping for something that would force it off without needing to use Android. I tried holding the power button down for a long period with no success.

Got my tablet back....the RMA said the LCD leaked and they replaced the system board....and reinstalled the OS... the interesting thing is they didn't install android properly. It has basically no apps installed (no google play, google apps), and has some weird apps like "Asus AT Command", Wifi_BT Test, Log Tool 2.0, Widevine Demo. Part of me is thinking they sent me a mostly blank (possibly rooted?) version of android?

    It is firmware version 53.31
    android 4.2.2,
    kernel version 3.4.34-00009-g276be8c, android@mec12 #1, Fri Oct 18 17:32:49
    Build redhookbay-eng 4.2.2_T3.10.1 JDQ39 eng.android 20131018.171814 test-keys

Anyone know how to install google play store/apps on the tablet?

    Ts, ts,ts.
They left a test version of the firmware on your tablet, forgot to flash the official one....
Contact support and have them talk you through manually flashing the firmware. I do not know your device and so do not know the correct procedure.

Blah, one of the issues I had with the system before I sent it in for RMA is still there. I can only use the base with an external monitor when the tablet is turned on. The touch screen/keyboard work, but the display won't show Windows (it's just blank; unless it is in Android mode).

You should factory reset both Windows (dock) and Android (tablet).

After that if still having trouble you should return the unit
