Interesting question this updating. I would agree that providing an upgrade improves performance then it would be fine, Maybe Asus would consider providing upgrades for a nominal price. It does seem strange to be 'left behind' Even if the updates only improved certain known problems, battery life, High usage of battery by WiFi etc, this would encourage owners to stay with the brand, and not bad mouth it, as often seems the case at the moment.
It does seem that the aftersales service leaves a lot to be desired, the above would, in my opinion, do a lot to redress this.
