    As far as I'm concerned, less memory = better performance. I do not equate "performance" and "speed". However, descriptions of Kitkat also state that some "unnecessary" background processes are removed. If those processes no longer run in the background, that, to me, equates to more CPU time for necessary processes. In other words, the scheduler won't have to allocate time for those unnecessary processes.

    Interesting question this updating. I would agree that providing an upgrade improves performance then it would be fine, Maybe Asus would consider providing upgrades for a nominal price. It does seem strange to be 'left behind' Even if the updates only improved certain known problems, battery life, High usage of battery by WiFi etc, this would encourage owners to stay with the brand, and not bad mouth it, as often seems the case at the moment.

    It does seem that the aftersales service leaves a lot to be desired, the above would, in my opinion, do a lot to redress this.
